No Fuel Day - Satyam Learning World

Hi Friends,

This time I am posting about an initiative, which was taken by Satyam's SLC-ELTP Team. 'NO FUEL DAY'. This is an initiative, where associates of ELTP Team, will have to come to the Office, Bahadurpally STC by bicyacle from STC-Parking, Tadbund. This is of 24 Kms. 21 associates have participated. This program was organised, to reduce the fuel consumtion atleast for that day. Around, 25 Litres of fuel was saved with this and also air & Noice pollution too.

This is for mother earth.

Mix 30 years of valiant Army’s Saga with a warm human heart, and you get an inspiring leader. That indeed, is Brigadier Satish Bahuguna. And, what an incredible feat! He relentlessly pedaled a bi-cycle for 24 long kilometers from STC-Parking in Tadbund to SLC at Bahadurpally on 18 Jul 2008, braving potholes, traffic and the strong winds, and led from the front, 20 determined co-associates from SLC-ELP team, who stayed course with him, in their maiden effort to save energy through the “No Fuel Day”.

What’s more gratifying is the courage that belies age and gender, and often smiles through the fair soul, Sheela, Teena, Neha and Gunjan, who added splendorous glory and grace to this noble pursuit.

Moments of joy, clubbed with complaining knees, thirst and sweat, challenged stamina within; but in the end, it’s the brave who beat the heat, all the way. The cycling squad was greeted amidst cheers and claps, as Prasad it was, at last, who finally pedaled into a thundering applause.

The real question the cyclists asked: Have the cycle manufacturing companies started designing smaller seats, or that, our seats have grown beyond standard dimensions? Brig quipped, “Shekhar, think of mass PT now! I shrug to think anymore, oh! the pain… in the knees!

Thanks to the leadership in Satyam, their best wishes, CS for their whole hearted support, security staff who cared, and those young enthusiastic hearts in team who beam energy with enthusiastic smiles.

Great day to remember… We wish ourselves many more to come.

Hi Friends,

This is my trip details in brief: Only when you have time please go through this.

Last week I went to tour. It was for 7 days. I have gone with my school friends. We were 13.

I visited, Agra, Mathura, Brindavan, Shimla, Kufri hill station, Manali, Rodhan Hill station which is there with snow, then in return 1 day in Delhi.
It was an amazing, adventurous and dangerous trip. You will understand after reading the mail.

Hyd to Agra
We have started from hyd on 6th Jun’08 and got down in Agra, next day morning. We went to Taj Mehal and spent for 2 hours there.
It was an amazing experience. This was one of my dreams come true. We also visited red fort in agra. It is as similar as Delhi fort.
And then we have booked 2 cabs, to go to Delhi, as we have a train to Kalka next day 08th morning.

Agra to Delhi
On the way to Delhi, we visited, Mathura temple, birth place of Lord Krishna and also brindavan, a garden with more than 100 tulasi plants.
Went to Delhi on 07th night and stayed in a hotel near to station.

Delhi to Kalka to Shimla
On 08th morning 6:30 we started to Kalka which is of 550 Km. in Kalka, we have a connecting train which is known as toy train which will go to shimla.

Specialty of this journey:
It was an excellent journey of 96 Km but of 6 hours.
Train will go thru, mountains, where one side you can see the deep valley and other side, mountain.
Main specialty is it will cross thru 103 tunnels on the way and that is why it is in Guinness book of records.

We reached at 6:40pm in shimla. Here day time is more and night time is less. I mean, around 3:30am you can see the light and till 8:00pm, light will be there. We spend that night there.

Kufri – A hill station 09th Jun
In the morning, we booked a 15 seated bus for us to go to Kufri a hill station. After 2.5 hours, we will reach a place from which kufri is 4 Km away. From there no vehicle will go, by walk or by horse only we have to go. Complete path is with 1 feet deep mud and it was raining, so it was more. We went by horse and it was of 1 hour journey. From Kufri, we can see the china border and Great Wall of China with binoculars. But it was raining, so you can see only fog every where. That is around 3250 feet high from sea level. There we spent time around 1 hour. Then we came down and started to wards Kulu-Manali.

Kulu-Manali
In Kulu we can see only a nice weather, as it was almost a night journey we have not enjoyed any thing. Here I have to say about a terrible incident. After crossing Kulu, We have to cross the mountains. So one side of the road, you will have mountain and other side a river called, Vyas, will be flowing. This river is formed with the melted ice coming from rodhan pahad, where we are going now. This place is almost 100 Km away from that place. It is of 50 feet Wide River and water will flow with 50-55km p h.
We had 2 drivers with us and in between, second driver started driving. That driver was found sleepy and at one turning, he drove the vehicle almost to the edge of road. One of my friends was sitting next to driver, and he immediately turned the steering, so vehicle turned to other side. It was around 12:30 mid night and only my friend and I were asleep. If he would have not done this, today, you might have seen other mail instead of this. JJ

Immediately, we asked the first driver to drive and at nearby hotel we stopped the vehicle, we had a cup of tea and then again we started. We reached manali at 3am. There we had 2 hours of sleep, and at 5am we started in the same vehicle to Rodhan pad. We started early as from 6-6:30 traffic will get jammed, as it is the only road to go to that place as well as other road transport, which will cross the border. And after 7 military people will not allow any tourist vehicle to go on top.

NOTE: We can see the apple trees at both the sides of road in shimla. They grow like, what we see normal trees in our high ways. There were apples also but they were in starting stage. It takes more 3-4 months to become a fruit. Still we tasted one of it, it was bitter.

Rodhan Pad – Hill station with ICE. 10th Jun

Again this is one more adventurous trip. Here we have to go up 5000ft high and this place is 10 km away from kargil border. This Journey is of 3 hours, and we spnt 2 hours at that place. On the hill there were around 2000 people, splitted in different spots. This was one of my wishes that, to see a hill station with ICE. On the way we can see water falls, ICE bergs, paragliding, 2 helicopters which will take the tourists around this place for 30 min, this is for only rich people. J

Then we came down in the evening at 3:30pm and took a bus to delhi.

11th Jun we spent the time in delhi. Visited, lotus temple, kutub minar, parliament, rashtrapathi bhavan, Palika Bazar and Akshar Dham temple.
12th Jun morning 6:45 we took the train and 13th Mor we reached Hyd.

This was my trip of 7 days.
